What happened next!

I was a very disciplined student. I practiced diligently morning and night, around 10am and 12 midnight each day.

During and after each practice session I felt more relaxed and had less pain. Being free of pain even for an hour or two was a wonderful feeling, I am sure those who suffer from constant chronic pain would heartily agree with me!

My practice consisted of Carrying the Moon and Pushing mountains and every second day, self manifested chi flow. I didn’t like Lifting the Sky as it made my neck more painful but I later discovered that I was tensing my shoulders going upwards. This is not what I was taught but sometimes we think we are practicing what was taught. As Sifu often says ‘ Do what I tell you to do, not what you think I am telling you to do’.  There is a big difference!

My chi flows varied between gentle and vigorous, sometimes with very Tai Chi like movements and other times very funny movements. I often thought that if anybody could see me through the window of our kitchen, I would be locked up! I also had the most beautiful spiritual chi flows, especially in standing meditation, these I loved the most. The deep peace, joy, love, stillness and connection to a higher power was so beautiful, it made anything I was worrying about drift away into insignificance. This is a part of the practice that some students rush through which is a pity. Each part is so important.

After six months of daily practice, the pain was significantly gone. I felt so empowered that I had been able to do this for myself and so grateful to have been guided to Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit and the Shaolin Arts. It took another two months before I really and truly believed that I was completely healed. It was a gradual progression, I didn’t wake up one day and say ‘ Yes, I am healed’ it was more ‘I didn’t have any pain today’ over many weeks progression and being aware of doing more things for myself.

It was time to write to Sifu again!

To be continued….
