Sifu Joan Browne founded Shaolin Wahnam Ireland in 2001 to help people overcome chronic pain and illness through the ancient art of Shaolin Chi Kung.
She practiced this profound art herself to overcome a back and neck injury with a wheelchair prognosis.
In that year, she was honoured to be accepted as an Shaolin Chi Kung Instructor by Shaolin Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit of Malaysia (www.shaolin.org).
She has taught in various towns and cities in Ireland since then, including Dublin, Galway, Athlone, Cork and Killarney as well as internationally in London, Manchester and Tel Aviv.
She is a registered Psychiatric nurse but now spends her time helping people overcome chronic pain and illness through Shaolin Chi Kung.
She also teaches Wahnam Tai Chi Chuan, is Chief Instructor in Ireland and organizer of Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit’s workshops in Ireland each year.
She is based in Kilgarvan, County Kerry, Ireland and currently teaches in Kilgarvan, Killarney and Cork.

In March 2017 she will lead a new programme called Programme 360 in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Killarney. Participants with a chronic illness e.g asthma, diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, back problems, tinnitus, crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis etc attend twice weekly in their area for one year. The fee is €2500.00. A contract is signed and if the illness is not overcome in 12 months of attendance the fee is returned.
